San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I went to Atkins, which by the way is a very good shop. They did the diagnostic and sent me to Gearmaster. Who diagnosed my transmission problem. Told me the codes took it for a test drive wish was kind of fun because I never sit in the passenger seat. Discover the problem which was something I could never even imagine. And didn't even charge me for the diagnosis. I've been to alot, alot of shops in San Jose and Campbell with different cars and these are the two best I have ever found.

I took my car to Gearmaster to address my leaking rear main seal. While inspecting, Aldo found an additional problem with my rear differential, informing me that it was very pitted and worn out. I had taken my car to numerous mechanics prior, and none had mentioned of this issue. After Aldo addressed both issues, driving my car became a night and sky difference. I did not realize there was such a heavy drag on my acceleration this whole time, and I would have never found those issues had Aldo not identified it. Thanks for the amazing service!

I highly recommend Gearmaster to anyone needing service on their transmission, differential, or transfer case. I first brought my 2012 Ford Raptor in for a differential repair, and the service was 100% hassle-freeβno hidden fees, just honest and straightforward work. More recently, I had my Jeep Latitudeβs transfer case repaired, and once again, the experience was smooth and professional. After visiting several other shops that felt dishonest, Iβm grateful to have found Aldo and his team. They did an amazing job, and most importantly, they stand behind their work. If you want reliable, honest service, this is the place to go!

THANK YOU to Aldoβs team for making this car even better than it already was. I wanted to upgrade my miataβs factory open differential to an OS Giken limited slip, which involved modifying the oem parts. Gearmaster was able to do this when other shops said it was too difficult, and they did it in a day and a half! It completely transformed this car for the better and they did a solid job, 2,000 miles (and counting) later no leaks or issues. Responsive, professional, and highly competent team with fair prices.

Excellent service and customer experience. Aldo gave recommendation on going with 4.56 gears on my 2004 Tahoe with my 33" tires. I was hesitant because the forums recommended 4.11 gears from my factory 3.73 gears. Totally happy with Aldo's recommendation. They completely rebuilt my front and rear differentials and installed the new 4.56 gears, serviced my transmission, and checked my u-joints. My Tahoe is now ready for another 150k miles! Shop is clean, waiting room is clean, and all technicians are courteous. No wonder Aldo has been in business for such a long time!
